Are you having troubles in your relationship? Do intimacy issues cause problems in your marriage? Is your life not going the way you planned? Do you have some personal issues to work through?

I am a licensed counselor with over twelve years of experience in private practice in Boise, Idaho. I am trained to help couples with marriage and relationship problems. I also help individuals work through a variety of issues. I have extensive experience in dispute resolution techniques and have worked with the courts doing mediation.

What can you expect?

Why do so many couples feel that their "communication" is breaking down? Communication difficulties are often the sign of a deeper disconnect in a couple's relationship. Through the counseling process we identify and tackle larger psychological issues which can enable partners to reconnect.

A new relationship, a recent move, the birth of a child all bring about stress which may be too much to handle effectively on our own. I can assist people dealing with issues such as stress, anxiety and depression. I also counsel individuals who are having adjustment issues with rapidly changing environments and the quick pace of life.

What is your approach?

I provide a safe forum for individuals and couples to work through difficult issues that may be too "hot" to discuss at home. I work collaboratively with couples, striving to hear from each partner equally, and avoiding siding with one partner.

I give clients the opportunity to speak candidly, and I also offer interventions that open new ways of thinking and spark change.

When are you available and how do you bill?

Usually the first counseling session can take more than an hour, but the length of each session is flexible so that clients feel comfortable and are able to express themselves with out feeling rushed. I have expanded work hours, some evenings and weekend times are available.

I have found that direct billing is the best way to serve my clients' needs.
I prefer working directly with clients rather than involving insurance companies. To help ensure clients' privacy and confidentiality, I prefer not to be involved with reporting requirements and any limitations that insurance policies have with treatment.
